Introduction

Welcome to the website of the Cancer Support Association of Western Australia Inc, Cancer Support Online. Our site is designed to provide you with crucial information and support on your cancer wellness journey. A cancer diagnosis has the ability to turn your world upside down and could make you fearful of the future. The impact is felt as a patient, family member, friend or carer. Cancer Support Online aims to take that fear away by providing a quality cancer information and wellness platform, which empowers you to make better informed treatment and quality of life decisions, allowing you to resume and re-affirm control over your life. Cancer Support Online has many features for you to explore at your leisure. Here is a summary of the main features:

Gateway & Research
The CSA Gateway links you to other key cancer sites worldwide and incorporates cancer information databases on types of cancer, treatment methodologies, pharmacology, clinical trials, support, and much more. The CSA Gateway covers mainstream, complementary and alternative therapy information and personal experiences. At present, the Research facility is primarily dedicated to cancer treatment with low-dose phenothiazines, with special reference to Promethazine. This is based on the outstanding work by Dr Robert Jones, a leading and well-published cancer researcher and London based bio-chemist.

Cancer Profiler & Wellness Questionnaire
The Cancer Profiler is a cancer treatment decision support tool, which generates unbiased, objective information tailored to patients' individual medical situations and concerns, including full disclosure of treatment options for their specific disease states. The Cancer Profiler also reports risk tolerances, potential side effects, questions patients can ask their physicians and possible treatment outcomes based on group survival statistics. Other profilers include the Heart Profiler, Lung Profiler, and a Women's Health Profiler. For these four facilities we are sincerely grateful to NexCura Inc, a world-leader in medical information, research and technology applications. Our site also provides access to a very comprehensive and interactive Wellness Questionnaire, which enables you to assess your lifestyle, disease risk factors and make positive changes.

Wellness Publications
CSA publishes the high-quality monthly Wellness News magazine which is posted to our site in an attractive page-turning format at the commencement of each month. All paid members of the CSA receive access to the magazine for free. Other subscribers pay $50 per year. Wellness News archives date back to 2003. As well as the magazine, Wellness News Online the electronic newsletter version of the magazine is emailed monthly to all online subscribers. The Wellness publications bring you up-to-date information about the experiences of fellow travellers with cancer and a variety of articles about important mainstream, complementary and alternative therapies, nutritional advice, essential lifestyle changes, disease prevention and more. We welcome submissions, and members and subscribers are invited to share their personal stories and other articles of interest. All Wellness News Online articles are searchable enabling you to quickly find relevant information.

Library & Resources
CSA hosts a world class Library and Resource centre at its Western Australian premises with thousands of titles available for loan by members across Australia. The entire catalogue can be found on this website and you can borrow books at no charge (postage charges apply).

Most of CSA's funding is raised privately from individuals and business. You can easily make a donation online if you would like to assist us in developing important services for cancer patients. Your help will go a long way in providing services to individuals in need, particularly those who find themselves in areas with limited access to sophisticated healthcare and cancer information services. To existing Donors, our heartfelt thanks for your trust and valuable sponsorship. Your financial contribution enables the CSA to continue its work supporting individuals living with cancer, their families and carers.
